Domenica is a jack of all trades and has worked within a myriad of disciplines developing a unique skill set which spans from major fund development and grant writing to digital marketing. By education, she is an expert in nonprofit and government operations, fund development, program development, and compliance. By choice, she has become an expert in digital marketing, communications, and collaboration for good.
Domenica has an undergrad degree in Psychology from UC Santa Barbara and a graduate degree in Public Health from Touro University. During her Master’s program, she travelled to Ethiopia to research health perceptions and knowledge of the local Health Extension Workers and while there started to develop a health marketing vs health education model to share information. What set the methodologies apart was the merging traditional public affairs and communications with modern and innovative marketing strategies.

In 2013 MaberMe, Inc. was born creating a further reach and ability to help businesses and agencies advance. “Maber” means “Working together with passion” in the native language of Ethiopia, Amharic.

DESIGN STRATEGIST
Wakana was born and raised in Okinawa, Japan. Since childhood she was immersed in a culturally diverse environment so it came natural for her at age 15 to step out to and explore the world. Wakana always had passion for art and design. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in product design in Japan, she moved to England to continue her education, exploring her artistic vision, ultimately earning a Master of Arts in Theater.
Being away from home made her appreciate the beauty of her own country again. Therefore, in 2006, when she was invited to join the 150-year-old Akashi Sake Brewery in Japan, she didn’t think twice. As the Global Brand Development Manager, Wakana successfully built their brand, Akashi-Tai, from the ground up in multiple markets throughout Europe and Asia. In 2012, Wakana moved to San Francisco with her husband and became a full-time parent, something she considers the hardest job in the world. In 2016 she joined Btrax, a design agency in San Francisco, as an Innovation Facilitator, where she worked with large Japanese companies to develop their products and services through design thinking and a user-centered approach.
Wakana is a sake sommelier, a yoga teacher, and a mom. She enjoys beaches and people watching in the few moments of free time she gets.
